Yes, you should worry. You should keep your heat on, crawl space access doors closed/installed, and disconnect any hoses to water faucets (hose bibs). If your crawl space access doors are the vented type, they must be insullated. Also, all air vents around the house in the foundation should be closed. This should lessen any worries. Unfortunately, service folks often leave the crawl space access doors off after completing their work - lawn irrigation servicing people and the like. Should be checked. I had a pipe freeze on Monday and all of these these things. Bill Rakow

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I have a home in OP and I don't reside there. It was built in 1999 It is built off the ground with a crawl space. Should I be worried about pipes freezing? |
