Of course the DRs must comply with MD law. But since our BOD elections do not require 51% of all lots to elect someone, our DRs could be changed to be 51% of ballots cast. If I am not mistaken, the DRs for my section (9) indicate no home on either side, across the street directly and diagonally can be the same color. The DRs leave that issue up to the discretion of the ECC and their super broad powers when it comes to plans approval. Perhaps you are confusing the DRs with the Guidelines. You need to READ the DRs again. A. All plans and specifications for any structure or improvement whatsoever to be erected on or moved upon or to any lot, and the proposed location thereof on any lot or lots, the construction material, the roofs and exterior color schemes, any later changes or additions after initial approval thereof and any remodeling, reconstruction, alterations, or additions thereto on any lot shall be subject to and shall require the approval in writing before any such work is commenced of the Environmental Control Committee (herein called “Committee”), as the same is from time to time composed. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Of course the DRs must comply with MD law. But since our BOD elections do not require 51% of all lots to elect someone, our DRs could be changed to be 51% of ballots cast. I certainly wasn't suggesting illegal changes or even voting to completely eradicate the DRs for any section If I am not mistaken, the DRs for my section (9) indicate no home on either side, across the street directly and diagonally can be the same color. Take a ride down my street (Trinity) and check out the new house being built next to me. I'd swear it is the same color siding. Where was the ECC/ARC inspector when the siding was going up? And adding clarification regarding trailers (house, boat, work, hobby, etc) would go a long way to laying this matter to rest. Gail |
