Joe, You're a victim of what I call The Richard Jewell Effect. No matter the heroics, "he ain't one of us, so what he did ain't no big thang." The man saved perhaps 100 lives that awful night in Atlanta. I would guess there are ZERO parks, streets, buildings sporting his name. So, in a backhanded sort of way, the Board has effectively elevated you and the C.O.P.E. cabal to hero status. Anyway, that's my take.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Kinda interesting that there is a bill just introduced into the Maryland legislature that, if passed, would provide 10% of the slots money to OPA and the OPA Board of Directors doesn't even mention it in passing, even if to voice disagreement. Part of the "not invented here so it doesn't matter" management style? How do you think the board would have reacted if the idea had been one initiated by the board? |
