![]() ![]() Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Board Punts on Slots Msg# 527565

Linda, Bill Rakow's current attempt to blame management is lame. True, management should have gotten the board involved more. However, the board had Norm Katz's letter way in advance and did NOTHING. The board ignored Katz and his letter. Let's talk about NOW. There is an opportunity to seek legislation to obtain a fixed percent share for OPA, but the board, through Rakow, Purcell, and Sterrett, has decided to not even try. The most lame excuse ever is it was WRONG for the state to allocate a percent for OC and Berlin, so it would be WRONG for OPA to try now... as though this was some morality issue. Will OPA get a few crumbs from the county? Sure. Will OPA receive anything approaching a potential $1 million or more per year to spend without county approval? Anyone who answers YES is being nonsensical. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where:
Fact is, we were not informed by management IMO, therein lies the first and foremost problem that should be dealt with by the BOD. I suppose it may be fair to say OPA may have lost millions thanks to "management". What a shocker |
