Frankly much of the good that has come to the Eastern Shore has been brought here by "come heres" but the "locals" mentality is still alive and well although probably headed toward life support in the years ahead. Jack, Your Eastern Shore heritage goes back many generations, so you are IN. You and Nanci Phillips are two Ocean Pines people who can trace your roots back to those who stepped off the boats. You two ...and there may be others .. will have to be the "token Eastern Shore pioneers" for Ocean PInes. I imagine that the "come heres" are more numerous than the "born heres" by now, and you are right, those who have come have bought some good things. Now about those tacky tee shirts on The Boardwalk....I don't know just who thought of those. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I think 39 or 40 years is a decent amount of time for a community to be considered "permanent" don't you? If OP folks participated in local government more actively, they would be accepted more readily. The Eastern Shore is not Silver Spring it is .....well, the Eastern Shore. |
