If OP folks participated in local government more actively, they would be accepted more readily. OP folks probably participate at the county government level as much as any other community. As a practical matter on most meeting days there are fewer people attending commissioner meetings than OPA board meetings. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: There is no doubt we need to be more proactive about "asking", however, here on the Eastern Shore the good ole boy network is still alive and well. I just have always sensed that Berlin, Ocean City, Snow Hill, Pocomoke are viewed as the "locals" and Ocean Pines are the "come heres". I agree. BUT... Ocean Pines folks starting "coming here" in the spring of 1969 and a few bought property in the fall of 1968. I think 39 or 40 years is a decent amount of time for a community to be considered "permanent" don't you?
