Throughout this campaign, I have remained steadfast in sharing my platform and have posted about my responses at the candidate forum and championing the principles I hold most dear such as transparency and responsible stewardship of our community’s resources.
Today, I published a statement on why full-time leadership matters. Rather than engage with the substance of my message, some have turned to anonymous attacks filled with misinformation. Platforms, like Get Involved, which permit unverified anonymous comments, often originating from the same sources behind a disreputable hate site, undermine the respectful dialogue Ocean Pines deserves. When board members continue to participate on the hate site by “liking” posts, it calls their commitment to constructive governance into question. The volume of falsehoods being directed at me is staggering. Each claim is easily disproven, yet they persist in lies, vulgar, childish language that distracts from genuine debate. I am deeply disappointed, and frankly embarrassed, that our residents must endure this level of discourse. For anyone wondering what prompted this latest round of attacks, here is the post I shared today. Being Present: Why Full-Time Leadership Matters It’s important to note that serving on the Board of Directors isn’t just an honorary title, it’s a responsibility that calls for deep, day-to-day engagement. When board members live here full time, they breathe the same air, drive the same streets, and share the same concerns that shape our community’s well-being. Their daily presence means they see firsthand how our neighborhoods evolve and which initiatives spark excitement or require reevaluation. Full-time directors build stronger relationships across every corner of our community. They’re not just names at the top of meeting minutes, they’re the friend who waves hello, the neighbor who asks about your day, and the advocate who rallies support for common goals. Trustees who live here become trusted stewards: they celebrate our wins, share our frustrations, and stand united in finding the best path forward. Contrast that with directors who only visit on occasional weekends. Their best intentions can be undermined by gaps in understanding. They rely on secondhand updates, miss the rhythm of seasonal changes, and may struggle to prioritize projects that affect homes on a daily basis. Their fingertips aren’t on the pulse of our community. Key Benefits of Full-Time Resident Directors When electing or volunteering for our Board, let’s choose the leaders who are here through every sunrise and sunset--those who don’t just visit our community but call it home. Their full-time presence isn’t a luxury; it’s the cornerstone of responsive governance and a thriving neighborhood. As a former part-time resident, a former employee and now a full-time resident and volunteer I’m asking for your vote. Please consider voting for AMY PECK. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Here is one of the texts this imbecile sent me: “Peck ?? She is a disaster for your community. Claims to have legal experience - never worked for any firm - a liar. She was a disaster school teacher and they were happy to get rid of her. Word has it you hope that she wins so she can be another leaker for you and because you truly despise your HOA board leadership” This is all unbelievable. “Your community?” This individual is SiCK. The Get Involved supporters say they do not get involved in personal attacks, so it can’t possibly be one of them. |
