Endorsing Amy Peck for the OPA Board of Directors, and not Stuart Lakernick, has unleashed a torrent of personal attacks directed this way.
Here is a mild one, allowed to be published on Get Involved as an anonymous post: "This election season has focused on one thing only and that is to rake the Lakernick’s over the coals. I’m making this post anonymously for fear of retaliation from the forum editor and Ms. Peck. Joe has suddenly change from remaining neutral to smearing Stuart and bringing Esther into this election." Retaliation? Rake Lakernick over the coals? I am "smearing Stuart?" Bringing Esther into the election? Esther Diller runs a Facebook site dedicated to electing folks to the Board of Directors, including her husband.... and I am accused of bringing her into the election. I love this place. The litany of stuff in that anonymous post sure could be viewed as coming from the Facebook hate site supporting Lakernick and Get Involved. Then there is the nitwit who starts sending me text messages, including, "Word has it you hope that she (Peck) wins so she can be another leaker for you and because you truly despise your HOA board leadership.” Again, the above sounds like something that would originate with the hate site operator supporting Lakernick. True or not, that person is not helping Lakernick. Another leaker? Who does this nitwit think is leaking now? Could it be Steve Jacobs, the "not-get-involved" member of the Board? How could that be, when the Get Involved people are all now endorsing Jacobs after beating him up for three years. Who is inspiring these idiots? Frankly, OPA is no danger whether Peck or Lakernick win. Anyone suggesting otherwise is a fool. Endorsing Peck was a choice based on a dislike of a 6-1 board majority for the last three years where six of the seven voted exactly the same on every motion, save one on the election process about a month ago. If elected, Peck will be asking many questions. Offering different points of view. What the heck is wrong with that? Should all incumbents be re-elected, little will change, and that is no disaster either. Vote for the candidates of your choice for whatever reasons you feel important. However, PLEASE don't personally attack others simply becasue they express support for a candidate or candidates you do not support. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Now I have Get Involved supporting nitwits sending me anonymous text messages about Peck. These people are obsessed with the woman. They are now completely bonkers because Peck suggested it is better if board members are full-time residents. She is not the first person to suggest same in last five or so decades, and will not be the last. Every association member is equally eligible to be on the board - period. Every association member also has a right to an opinion that board members can best serve if they live here. |
