I have never heard about a proposal to build a fire department next to and north of the bank.
Pay closer attention.
Back when the OPVFD was looking to build the new north fire station, it was proposed as an alternative. It should have been done then. Discussed on the forum and I suspect you read all those messages. I will look for the posts. I have never heard about a proposal to build a fire department next to and north of the bank. Back when Bob Thompson and the fire department were talking about a new single building it was my understanding it was to be a public safety building to be located between the Southgate entrance and Cathell Road fronting on 589. Between the bank and Route 90. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: Happy Father’s Day! I have never heard about a proposal to build a fire department next to and north of the bank. Back when Bob Thompson and the fire department were talking about a new single building it was my understanding it was to be a public safety building to be located between the Southgate entrance and Cathell Road fronting on 589. Either way you are increasing the already exorbitant cost of a new building by at least a couple of million dollars worth of land. In my humble opinion that isn’t affordable, unless you’re trying to compete with Ocean City’s new fire station boondoggle. Marty |
