i simply filled out the application for membership at the OP office. I was not selected by the board Until a member that was selected resigned I was the next person identified by the office in line for opportunity to serve - that ranking of names were made by the office .. nothing to do with an outside organization-stop repeating nonsense ..

What you wrote above is correct. However, that is AFTER the Get Involved site urged people to go apply immediately AFTER the entire committee resigned, and before any news release from OPA about that -- if I recall correctly.

I never suggested you or any applicant did anything wrong. I am suggesting that a politically active Facebook group supporting certain board candidates and board members urged its members to apply for the Elections Committee.

As an aside, the decision by Doug Parks to appoint the new members based on the date of their application fell into a questionable aspect of all this at the time. It is a fact that applying the first applied rule (first time that ever happened in my memory) resulted in no applicant from the ROC Facebook page at odds with Get Involved ever gaining a spot. 

In my view, any board president should appoint committee members based on some info regarding the applicant's background, and not ONLY date/time of application.

Tom, anyone really interested in the FACTS does not have to listen to me. Just go research the Bayside Gazette and Ocean Pines Progress newspapers from that period.
