I usually say “have a good holiday” as that is vague enough that it covers every base I need covered.
Sounds like you have thought about it. Anyway, Memorial Day is not a HAPPY DAY. If you or others think that opinion is silly or foolish, or whatever, so be it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: There is zero malicious intent when someone says “Happy Memorial Day.” I find it slightly irritating, sure, , but have long since stopped correcting people when they get terminology, nomenclature, etc. incorrect. If someone wished me a ”somber, reflective Memorial Day,” I would likely raise an eyebrow despite that being technically correct. I usually say “have a good holiday” as that is vague enough that it covers every base I need covered. “Sensitivity to other people's feelings is certainly not silly.” Shockingly woke of you, Mr. Moran. |
