For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I couldn’t agree more with the points you make. And there are other such as ecological/environmental benefits. While I agree that there should be no trashy properties many homes remain in the natural forest and woodlands that much of ocean pines was developed. Leaves are part of the natural environment and while I certainly don’t advocate completely unattended lots and ditches, having manicured lawns (a large number of lots would not even support grass due to the number of trees and shade) seems quite the overreach. OP has always had a large number of part time residents and for that reason alone enforcement of this new beautification standard seems out of touch with reality. I also hope the board realizes as it raises the standard for beautification of private lots, any public spaces become fair game for criticism if they are not equally maintained. |
