For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The total lack of any response to the removal of the old signs all along the Parkway is a clear indication that signs are useless at this point in time. Yet the board spends perhaps $250,000 to put up electronic signs that are even more useless - under pressure from the Communications Committee. The new electronic sign at the entrance to the Yacht Club can only be seen by travelers heading from the north side to the south side. The new sign at the Yacht Club, contrary to what was promised by the board, are not just messages in black/white text, but color graphics. Worse still, the message changes about every five seconds. The boards needs to install a small parking lot near each sign location so travelers can pull their cars over to read the electronic signs. |
