Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Racquet Center Budget Msg# 1218608

One interesting event -- as the board broke for lunch, Stuart Laklernick, seemingly at the suggestion of Elaine Brady, said the board needs to "discuss this offline."
Offline? Is this a violation of the HOA Act? Who cares? Earth to Joe - nobody cares about the HOA act. These people are afraid of their own shadow. How does anything get done around this place? I have a suggestion, replace em all with BOTS. Not all at once, that would be absurd. Let's try one and every year add another. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The board is meeting to review the budget for 2025-2026 as this message is posted. The only substantive discussion seems to be the issue of having one single Racquet Center membership as opposed to six or so different memberships. GM Viola seems to prefer the single membership. Racquet Center manager Terry Underkoffler wants a single membership. He says if maintenance costs are applied equally for individual sports then pickleball would go up dramatically. The debate goes on as the board breaks for lunch. Board members Stuart Lakertnick, Elaine Brady, John Latham, and Jeff Heavner seem to support the single membership. Farr has said nothing on the issue. Monica Rakowski and Steve Jacobs support individual sport memberships.
