Makes you think that the people who were making "unfounded accusations" about the Knupp Foundation were on to something. I'm sure apologies will be made in due course.
Let us again refer to the Ocean Pines "paper of record" - The Progress. February 2023 Ocean Pines Progress by Ocean Pines Progress - Issuu Lead paragraph: "Ocean Pines Association Director Rick Farr has denied an allegation that he has accused the foundation created in the name of Gavin Knupp, the Ocean Pines teenager who died in a hit-and-run incident last summer of misspending foundation funds." The article then states, "On the Get Involved page, he [Farr] is quoted as saying, 'I believe someone is going to request an audit of the foundation,' without mentioning who that might be." In the article, author Tom Stauss says I wrote that Farr had suggested "inappropriate spending of foundation funds." In my opinion, he did. Stauss then goes on to quote Farr as saying, "This is nothing more than a money grab for the Knupps and their mob mentality followers ..." The article quotes Farr suggesting other accusations regarding the Knupps or the foundation. The issue now, concerning Farr's comments as published in the Progress, is, as it was then, whether at that time, in February 2023, the president of Ocean Pines Association should have been giving interviews to a newspaper and commenting as he did regarding Tiffany Knupp with no facts to support the obvious insinuations or innuendo of wrongdoing. In my opinion, it was inappropriate to do so at that time, regardless of what is presently transpiring almost 1.5 years later. Maybe you think it was appropriate. So be it. Maybe Farr should stop giving interviews to Tom Stauss. Those interviews sure don't tend to bring this community together and have served little purpose in terms of the management of OPA. |
