I wrote, "Her supporters are now placing Elena McComas signs on OP property."
I have been told the group pushing the "I support public education" signs is not the group placing McComas signs on OPA public property. However, it would appear the "I support" group strongly supports McComas' candidacy. Many "I Support" and McComas signs are placed side by side in the shopping areas off Manklin Creek Road in OP. The "I Support" group is not helping McComas in her 5th District Campaign. I have also heard that someone at OPA told candidates it was ok to place candidate signs on OPA property along Cathell Road so long as the signs were off the roadway and backing the mulched area. This would be incorrect information. OPA staff also needs to tell those asking about sign regulations that signs cannot be placed in the right-of-way or easements. Thus, signs must be at least 35 feet back from the center of the paved road in almost all areas of OP. Further, CPI/ECC/ARC have no authority over OPA common property. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The terrible optics are more likely the result of a messed up sign campaign by supporters of Elena McComas. They may be hurting her campaign. Her supporters are now placing Elena McComas signs on OP property. Take down the education support signs and replace them with the authorized McComas candidate signs. You responded to a disgruntled ex OPA employee who is furious that his neighbors place presidential election signs for a candidate he dislikes in a rather extreme way. |
