Yes. They did raise the mold issue but this wasn't political as that issue was raised over a year ago. The March 10, 2023 RSAC minutes note a charging document requesting a mold check in the clubhouse. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Employees this summer were feeling ill. Have you personally interviewed these employees? Or are you just parroting what a few pickleballers said or told you? Was there some extensive "feeling ill" at the racquet center not seen in other OPA departments? I've not heard one individual employee say anything like you write as proven fact. I've heard one former employee just contacted OPA to say they did not leave over any mold or other health issues but for reasons totally unrelated to anything going on at OPA. It is beginning to look like a few pickleballers manufactured this entire health issue to try and embarrass OPA. I am not suggesting there is not mold in any OPA building or any home in OPA, for that matter, but some mold in a wetland does not mandate tearing down a building -- except perhaps in the minds of those who want any excuse to build a much larger structure with food serving capabilities, meeting rooms, and showers/lockers for visiting pickleball players at a cost of perhaps more than $1 million. By the way, I would remind readers that many homes in The Parke had a mold problem years ago. It did not necessitate tearing down the homes and rebuilding. Sad that pickleballers are clearly using a potential mold issue to advance their political goals of seeing OPA build a much larger clubhouse/proshop. They raised the mold issue. OPA will investigate and do what is necessary, as needed. |
