Amy:
It is normally more cost effective to build up rather than out. The negative is the cost of the stairs and or elevator while the plus is no additional foundation or roof, and the space is actually free of land cost. I would be surprised if the County P & Z allowed any additional impervious surfaces at that location. Marty |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Accusations??? The statement was “we are concerned that the building may not be safe due to a potential mold/mildew issue behind the walls”. Considering the building is serviced by three different HVAC units, the age of the structure, our high humidity, and issues other buildings have had in the past, OPA is wise to check this out before spending money in renovations. Shutting down the entire racquet center to investigate could be viewed as a retaliatory action given that an outside attendant could be set up as has been done many times in the past.
As for misinformation, there appears to be a fair share of it. Apparently, at the March RSAC meeting, with Doug Parks and Rick Farr in attendance, once again the Committee made it very clear that they did not recommend in February, nor do they now, only having the option to join an all inclusive three sport membership. |
