Joe: WHP is a modular home & trailer park. You can only live there 242 days a year. The point I was trying to make is it’s a gated community. None of the amenities are open to the public at any price. There are 465 lots. The monthly fee of $165.00 covers all management and security fees, use of the lifeguarded pool, cable TV, water & sewer, trash collection, use of the fishing/crabing dock, use of the boat ramp, play grounds, and the maintenance of your yard.
I am not suggesting that OP can or should return to a private community. Today, we have public W&S, public roads, public ems & police. All our amenities are public, yet we continue to pay to maintain and manage this place like a private community. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Isn’t White Horse Park a campground? Surely you are not comparing OPA assessments to White Horse Park. That would be ridiculous. |
