For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: I wouldn’t want our pools to be open without lifeguards even if private. The legal risk would far outweigh any savings. My question concerns the value of being a open to the public community verses a private one. OP was created to be a private gated community. It has become just another public hangout. The difference is the OP property owners pay dues for the costs involved with maintaining and operating the OP amenities, roads, police, ems and even the our now public sewer system enjoyed by the other nearby developments. We also pay the same state and county property taxes and road gas taxes for state & county public owned roads, parks, etc. as other Worcester County property owners. Other nearby private communities, example White Horse Park, are still private. And the annual costs are less. |
