Harry, do you actually think association members would, even if possible, want OPA to give up its tax free status? Do you think association members would want pools without lifeguards, even if legal?
That said, feel free to suggest the OPA board obtain a legal opinion on how not to be a 501c4 and the monetary and other ramifications of doing so. Good luck. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: Truth be told all our amenities lose money. As you stated here the aquatics costs us $262,000.00 over income, correct? Golf looses more, correct? ETC. The only amenity that actually makes a profit is beach parking. OP Property owners paid a minimum of $889.00 this year for dues. Why do we need to be a tax fee business if you lose millions of dollars every year? “NO PROFIT, NO TAX”. Harry |
