Joe, why are soooooo many people opposed to a ballot for each lot with a current paid assessment? Own three lots, you get three ballots, one lot, one ballot, leaves a great paper trail. As far as the USPS not delivering the mail, don't forget they used the USPS to ship the Hope Diamond! This internet voting is a disaster waiting to happen, could you imagine if hackers took over the site and demanded ten million dollars to release the data? Who would step up and pay that ransom.....the BOD.......the Election Committee?????
Wait, I know Jac Grein would pony up, problem solved! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Voting by mail or in person is hardly stone age. To suggest it is stone age is a complete absurdity. It is how we elect President, Congress, Governor, etc. Talk to AGH about INTERNET security. Unfortunately, contrary to your assurances, a first-person paper trail for INTERNET voting does not appear to be available to my knowledge. The paper ballot system last year was indeed a bust because the people handling it did not know what they were doing. The committee completely violated the elections resolution. The mailing contractor is supposed to open returns and separate ballots from envelopes then bring two separate stacks to counting room. An IT person, not from OPA, should run any scanning under supervision if committee, etc. Returned mail ballot voting was used successfully for over 50 years. Please also explain how any requested recount is done when people vote via some INTERNET server of the low bidder in Iowa or Arkansas. Is INTERNET voting easy? Yes. Can it be trusted? Who would want to see the President of the United States elected on some INTERNET site? |
