Your initial contact goes back to over a year ago. Apparently there was some confusion involved. As for the intersection of Cathell and Route 589, anything over 589 would be controlled by the State Highway Administration. That said a painted pedestrian strip crossing Cathell Road from north to south on the east side might be possible. Anything at the intersection

Below is a response I received from Director Daly:

Mr. Mello contacted info@oceanpines on 4/9/21 requesting a crosswalk at Cathell Road and 589. As this is part County (Cathell Road)/part State (589), I told him that the request would need to go through either one of them.

He then emailed on 7/14/21 requesting that we gave him the incorrect information and that Ocean Pines owns that area. Upon further conversation, he corrected his previous email and noted that the area that he would like done is Cathell Road and Ocean Parkway along with the 4-way stop at Manklin Creek Road. I responded that the 4-way stop at Manklin Creek would need to be done by the County, but we would add the Cathell Road and Ocean Parkway bike lane striping when the line striping of Ocean Parkway takes place next fiscal year. For some reason he didn’t understand my response, as he replied that Ocean Pines needs to work it out with the County on who is responsible.

The last response to him was on 3/4/22 when he was again informed that the bike lane will be striped when the Ocean Parkway line striping takes place (probably this Fall).

As far as the intersection of Manklin Creek Road and Ocean Parkway, Dallas Baker at Worcester County Public Works already replied to Mr. Mello that they will add the bike lane sometime in the future.
