| In my opinion, the Ocean Pines Association definitely needs a Social Media / Marketing Committee to keep on top of the negativity, hate and attacks that are out of control against anyone that tries contribute to the association. If the OPA potentially were to have their own Paper and/or Social Media Group the residents might be more likely to read & communicate where centralized factual information is being shared. By attending meetings, listening to residents and now enduring personal attacks, it's amazing that anyone would ever want to be a part of working with the association. No one can shut down other groups, however, if there were an alternative with answers and factual information without the constant attacks our residents just might be more attracted to join an OPA group. Ideas and suggestions are not meant for crucifying a person but should be used for open discussions. But then again, if its drama and chaos that some constantly seek then nothing anyone can do or say will be of help! | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Sherrie, several individuals have sent me the text below, taken from a Teams screenshot during the meeting today between the board and the Strategic Planning Committee, and attributed to you. I find your comments quite unbelievable. You want an OPA committee that will look into shutting down social media groups? God forbid any board members with half a brain will even think about something so draconian and appalling. Please... tell us you were just joshing the board members with an early April Fools joke. Strategic Planning Work Session Sherrie Clifford OP ROC (Guest) 10:47 AM I would like to see you start a Social Media Committee (different than policy of BOD activities) and separate from the Communications Committee. Social Media Committee is very important now a days with FB, Instagram, Twitter & the OP Forum and all the negativity from some of these groups! Need to shut down groups that have their own agendas behind them! This new committee should be started ASAP!
