The CO2 method is called the humane method, as recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association. And of course Carbon Dioxide is totally different from Carbon Monoxide, and it should not be confused. [i.e. just a reminder to folks] CO2 is the same stuff exhaled by humans and other animals, and is also vital to the life cycle of plants.
Recall all the locations throughout the US where this method has been used, as referenced in my message yesterday. And there's a bunch more, [if time would allow] that could be added to the list. Maryland is among those processing the meat, then donating it to the needy. Some jurisdictions don't bother with those processing and distribution steps, but bury them in landfills, etc. [a cheaper option.] I've skipped listing those examples. |
