The last time OPA allowed the vegetation to grow as a buffer around the ponds it actually worked very well as a deterrent to the geese. However, some didn’t like the natural look at the ponds and OPA abandoned this approach.

The vegetation buffer is considered the most effective and cost efficient way to limit the resident goose population short of euthanasia.
