And as of now still down.

I am very interested to know what caused this long outage. I will ask John V.

Is this a case of a single point of failure (SPOF), part of the system with no redundancy in place.

-Or could it be that a new software code, patch or upgrade caused system-wide crash?
-power outage at Northstar or at ISP vendor site. But they usually have generators on standby for power backup. Or they can reroute ntw traffic to backup server site at a different location.

When you run an IT infrastructure you usually plan for some kind of redundancy. Shrug

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where:
Still down. Keep in mind that the server is not OPA’s. The server is owned and operated by Northstar. Also, stuff happens. The problem could be anywhere along the many hops from the server to this part of the country. The server may be in Atlanta, but not likely in Pakistan where their programmers live.
