Call this a PS on my review of Coastal Salt. My eagle eye wife accountant, after returning home, picked up a charge on the bill that I missed. It had to do with my asking our server for tartar sauce for my mahi and crabmeat entree when it was delivered to our table. He promptly returned with the standard plastic cup of the condiment. Little did I know there would be an added charge of .50 cents for this.  Haven't been surprised like this since Chef Freds in Salisbury, no longer in business, charged $1 for a glass of tap water. With the prices charged at Coastal Salt one would at least think they could afford to provide a cup of tartar sauce with a seafood dish without feeling the necessity to add .50 cents to the bill which at best, is poor marketing.

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Matt Orts 30% off entire bill promotion for Ocean Pines residents [Nov 1 2 &3rd ] at Coastal Salt in Ocean City provided the opportunity to try out their new restaurant located at 16th st on the Boardwalk in the Quality Inn. Due to Covid we pick our times carefully and off season early week with a 1 o clock lunch worked for us. Masks required until seated and social distancing observed. Diners can park in front of the Quality Inn and walk through it to the restaurant but this time of year we were able to park right on 16th st and enter from the Boardwalk entrance. Very convenient  Decor is modern with a bar in the center, booths on the side and tables in the middle all with an ocean view. In the summer outside seating is available. This is an upscale menu so not for the faint of heart with prices similar to Sunset Grill. Even though it was lunch time we were on a mission for a full dinner experience. Menu is extensive enough to satisfy almost everyone and service, an Ort specialty is very good. Shared a Bloody Mary that came with lemon, lime, olive, bacon and celery which was excellent. The lemonade scallops were a shared appetizer and delicious. The Mahi topped with crab meat sounded good enough that Andrea and I both ordered the dish so that is the only entrée we can evaluate but it was excellent as well. Crème Brule for Andreas dessert and I had the brownie and chocolate ice cream  An enjoyable experience and with the 30% discount our lunch/dinner topped out at $105 including generous tip but worth it. Coastal Salt also serves breakfast and the Ocean Pines special is on through Wednesday.  CoastalSalt
