Terry, You can have pine needles or grass but your can't have both. If your yard has had several years of pines needles on it, you can help the soil by spreading Lime pellets to help change to PH of the soil. It can help the regular grass seed to get a foot hold. Ray Unger | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Inquiring Minds want Advice I live in the Pines and would like advice on trying to grow grass here. My soil seems depleted. Does a certain grass seed work with this zone/area?
anyone have experience re-generating a front lawn with existing tall pine trees on the lot?
any help would be appreciated..would like to try myself before going to "professional service"
