Hi Joe, I think that the Board members did the right thing. The MOST IMPORTANT thing for them and all of us who are property owners in OP to do is to keep in close contact with the County Commissioners. SLOTS MAY NOT EVEN HAPPEN...but having said that....on every matter we need to be more involved with the county THAT is how communities get things that they need. The word around all the meetings that are being held in Montgomery County is that we can BEAT THE SLOTS. If we do then all is well in Worcester. If it does pass...the County Commissioners can control the situation by using their powers of zoning to eliminate slots from our midst. If the Worcester citizens want slots....then Ocean Pines has gone on record with their expectations and need to have a close working relationship with ALL the commissioners....not just our own. Ocean Pines citizens do not involve themselves with the county. If they don't.....then they will reap what the sow..........or don't. The sky has not yet fallen...and there are plans in place to deal. In the meantime folks need to go on record also....not just our leaders. Nancy |
