I think they were very successful. Hopefully this exercise has not damaged OUR standing in the County or State with OUR elected legislators Marty, as you probably know from reading my posts I have been more on the Boards side relative to their recent action taken, although they were little late in the game. But to say they were very "successful" is a little premature unless one is considering only the fact that they met with us and were cordial. As far as "damaging" our standing in the County or State you may want to reevaluate how one views that position . Our elected officials job is to look out for the property owners of Ocean Pines. Our leverage, for the most part, are our votes and any good politician,County or State knows that. Most politicians that I know respect those looking out for the best interests of their constituents. One also needs to realize that, at times, all is not going to be all nice and cozy in these relations and occasionally a stand needs to be taken that may be unpopular with the other side. That is what produces results. Ocean Pines Board and management have not exactly had a record of being proactive in its protecting the property owners interest in the past with issues outside the Pines so perhaps times should be a changing. I would much rather see you leading the charge than wiping the butt. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: You just posted the motion, and Bill, Les, and Reid did just what the motion asked them to do. they contacted all of OUR elected legislators and lobbied them on the behalf of the Ocean Pines membership. I think they were very successful. Hopefully this exercise has not damaged OUR standing in the County or State with OUR elected legislators. Marty |
