A Low Speed Vehicle is a four wheeled, electric vehicle designed to carry not more than four persons and operate at a speed of at least 20 but less than 25 miles per hour. So here is one problem I foresee if you are putting the above vehicles on OPA roads even with your request to lower the speed limit to 30mph. I don't think auto drivers are going to take too kindly following a vehicle going 25mph in a 30mph zone. I also heard something on the radio the other day in a discussion on speed limits and vehicles. It was stated that any vehicle on Maryland roads was required to have a maximum speed that exceeded the posted limit by 5mph. |
