OPA Board approves motion language to proceed with new Community Hall. 7/9/2008. Motion will be voted on at board meeting on 7/16/2008. If approved the board would accept proposal of Lehman Construction to replace the existing Community Hall with a slightly larger building (additional 2200 sf) that would include two large multi-purpose rooms, one with a ceiling high enough to use for basketball.
Total cost would be $1.75 million funded fully from existing reserves set aside for such maintenance and replacement of existing facilities.
The project would be put to referendum, with the results announced in October. Passage of the motion by the board is likley as it appears at least six board members support the Lehman proposal.
