Video: Code of Conduct
Start

At a public meeting on 11/16/2005 the OPA Board of Directors discussed a Glenn Duffy motion to approve a Code of Conduct for board members. After about 30 minutes of discussion, with much comment from Directors Venit and Coleburn, Duffy interrupted Coleburn and asked if he would prepare another version for consideration at a subsequent board meeting.

Heather Cook seemed prepared to accept the code as submitted by Duffy. Reid Sterrett expressed concern about some or all violations being cause for removal from the board.

Major items of contention included a prohibition on board members supporting candidates for the board and how members treat each other. Coleburn also pointed out apparent conflict between the code and the Articles of Incorporation.

Duffy insisted the idea for a Code of Conduct was not his, and that he had been instructed by the board to come up with a Code of Conduct. However, there does not appear to be any motion passed by the board during public meetings that instructed Duffy to do so.
