The OPA Board of Directors hears public comments from Ray Unger at the board's 2/26/2005 Town Meeting. The 7-minute video segment contains all of Unger's somewhat negative comments about the ultimate prospects of the YMCA being built any time soon on property presently proposed for site. Dave Ferguson apparently felt the comments were negative to the point he offered his own more positive comments after Unger spoke.
Ferguson also said about fund raising, "Funding normally comes from the community up." This was a clear reference to the fact the Y in Salisbury has been essentially footing the bills with little or no support at the community level. In northern Worcester County the community level is predominately Ocean Pines.
