An interesting tidbit from the Gilchrest meeting - Ocean City Mayor Mathias, from the audience, welcomes Gilchrest and mentions the nice weather in Ocean City. Gilchrest instantly reminds Mathias the meeting is in Ocean Pines. Politicians looking for votes are very aware the voters are in Ocean Pines, not Ocean City.

OC's City Council president was also in the audience, as were Commissioners Judy Boggs and Louise Gulyas. Mathias, Boggs and Gulyas all made some comments or asked questions. Perhaps someone from the Ocean Pines Association board was there but I did not notice anyone. In any event, no OPA board member made any comments.

One would think that a representative of the OPA Board of Directors would have been on hand to make a few welcoming comments when a United States Congressman visits Ocean Pines.

Congressman Gilchrest and his staff were very supportive of OceanPinesForum.com doing a video of the meeting, even to the extent of the Congressman agreeing to wear a lapel mic during his entire presentation. Also, while running late for another meeting, he was gracious enough to spend some time for a video interview with Jack Barnes.
