Director Heather Cook reports to the Ocean Pines Board of Directors on the recommendations of a committee she chaired to look at the election procedures used for OPA. Essentially the recommendations involve outsourcing the preparation and mailing of ballots. Cook believes this will actually save a little money. The election committee would be reduced to five individuals and a chairman -- possibly six alternates as well. Only the chairman would know the election results and Cook is also looking at ways to have an independent third party only know the results and announce the results at the annual meeting. Any action on the recommendations will be taken at a later board meeting.
