Video: Focus On The Pines
Start
Seven high school students from around Worcester County become County Commissioners for a day. What a great bunch of young men and women. The students begin the morning with a closed private session, then go into public session at 10 AM. Essentially the students conducted a mock County Commissioners meeting, including public hearings. Some of the real commissioners played the parts of citizens providing public comment.

Two standout performances on that end were turned in by Virgil Shockley (aka Elmo Balpeen Snelgrave) and Louise Gulyas who played the part of the owner of a body-piercing business.

This video includes about 60 minutes of the public portion of the meeting, interviews with the student Commissioners, interviews with six of the real Commissioners, and an interview with Superintendent of Schools John Andes.
