He was a young man then, perhaps 35 years old. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Am so sorry to read of Tom's passing. I worked with Tom in the 80s when he was editor of the Beachcomber. He was amazingly supportive and tolerate with some of us more eccentric staff members (ok, I was in my 20's writing a watersport column and was always running to him with a plethora of hairbrain ideas for content. He would very patiently sit, listen, and then diplomatically provide constructive direction). His scarasim, wit, and sense of humor goes unmatched. I have such fun memories of him. Such a sad loss for all of us! He will be missed! And yes, there will never be another Tom Stauss. |
