Tom held some mysterious control over every Board of Directors. In many cases he knew more of what went on in closed sessions than the directors present.

Kidding, of course, well... not entirely.

Tom was a news man and always seemed to obtain it.

At a public board meeting back in 2004, then president Dan Stachurski said, "When you talk to Tom Stauss, nothing is off the record." 

Tom smiled, and jotted down Dan's remarks on his ever-present ruled notepad.
