I wonder if the lawyers will be paid on an hourly basis or get a % of the awards? Either way it will be a NINE figure payday! | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks for that information. Yes Here's reference to the $350 million from May 2, 2024 report: Click Here "Chubb the insurer of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, is preparing to make a $350 million payout to Maryland, paying the full amount of the coverage quickly rather than waiting for the rebuilding to begin." "The check, which is the upper limit of the state’s coverage for the structure, would be the first large payout in what will likely be a yearslong wrangle over who bears the $1 billion-plus estimated cost of the bridge’s collapse. The collision, when a giant cargo ship plowed into and destroyed the bridge in the early hours of March 26, killed six people and effectively shut down Baltimore’s busy port." And now the federal funding for bridge replacement was approved last week. Yet there apparently will also be further claims against the ship's owners, the operators and the cargo owners. For example suing for Baltimore business losses and job losses, etc. -- likely to be litigated and with yearslong wrangle. Also potential claims by families of the workers who lost their lives. Seems the lawyers will likely be on call for quite a while. |
