Trust me, they will go up! When the jobs start employing locals and the cash begins to flow everybody will stop focusing on the view and start focusing on how to get more of the cash!
It's the "American Way"! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Jack (& Robert) Some folks love to walk the beach and boardwalk early in the sunrise hours. With more than 100 wind turbine towers planned out there, many folks have complained it would resemble the tattered view-scape of a war zone. And don't forget the impact on Easter sunrise services, impacting the eastward view-scape. If you object to the commercialization of buildings in the OC skyline, what about industrialization of the West OC Harbor. Its planned to be taken over by giant commercial ships and barges to install those giant windmill towers. Following installation, there will be routine maintenance, including replacements of failing wind blades. Recall earlier discussions here about the oil changes needed for those turbines. A single wind turbine holds as much as 700 gallons of oil. The oil needs periodic changing, every 9 to 16 months. And for more than 100 turbines, quite a challenge. Its an industrial level of maintenance, an ongoing effect both in the West OC harbor and impacting offshore fishing. If you prefer the beauty of nature, Assateague Island beckons to you. But be aware that the wind turbines have been accused of contributing to more frequent dead whales washing ashore. Also there are dangers to other sea creatures from the wind turbines. Such creatures as dolphins, porpoises and seals can be impacted. The popular OC sports fishing industry is also at risk. Image Title: Dead Whale at Assateague
