Looking more closely at the minutes of the March 9, 2023 Racquet Sports Committee meeting minutes, I noted the following:
Consensus was reached to create charging documents for: 1. Pickleball court cracks - In process I then checked with OPA and was told no charging document requesting the board look into the mold issues mentioned at the meeting were ever received by liaison Colette Horn or the Board of Directors. Karen Kaplan wrote those minutes. Then the minutes of the April 13, 2023 Racquet Sports Committee meeting there is the following: Update on Charging documents There is zero mention of any mold problem. No mention of mold in the May 11, 2023meeting minutes No mention of mold in the June 8, 2023 meeting minutes No mention of mold in the July 13, 2023 meeting minutes No mention of mold in the August 10, 2023 meeting minutes No mention of mold in the September 14, 2023 meeting minutes No mention of mold in the November 9, 2023 meeting minutes No mention of mold in the February 8, 2024 meeting minutes That novella reading last Saturday at the board meeting was a hit-job organized by a few individuals in a lame attempt to embarrass the board. The Racquet Sports Committee should be disbanded. As an aside, someone told me you wrote on Facebook that you were glad to see the board "listening to our common sense advice." Surely you were not serious, or was it an early April Fools joke. Finally, reading one of the meeting minutes I noticed this line, "Chair explained that a racquet center employee can be on a committee but not vote." The bylaws allow this, but was an employee appointed by the board as a committee member? If so, that was a board blunder. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I believe the recommendation was to expand the building, not tear it down. If after March 2023 the building was tested, that would be great for OPA to mention that and if the spraying this Summer took care of any issues later found. No updates are mentioned in the minutes. Transparency goes a long way. I'm glad the center is reopened. |
