No. Joe is correct. After all look at the guy who ran it- resignEd, demanded, got what he wanted and more, and resigned again… Go play the game. Have fun. Creating their own stress is also started by 2 and grows. Time to relax. Be thankful you can play ANY sport. Honestly-so many bigger problems. I wish my biggest was if I could shower after I played pickleball. These people should know they are blessed if this is their greatest fight today… |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I totally agree with the idea that all of the action should be happening outside. I also wonder why it is going to cost $200k to renovate it, although the restrooms are tiny and very much lacking. Improving them could be expensive. Showers and locker rooms would be nice, but certainly wouldn't be worth spending additional hundreds of thousands of dollars to largely benefit visiting players. I think almost all members are perfectly happy to head home to their own showers. I respect their right to air their views, although cheekily skirting the meeting rules and claiming that there is a mold issue that can't be addressed without a teardown both seem less than ideal. Of course, they could have had any number of pickleballers stand up and share similar views, so perhaps the missive wasn't so bad. As for pickleballers never being happy, how often do you encounter a group of 100+ people who regularly meet to promote/support a common interest and don't routinely generate drama and/or controversy? It seems especially rare when many of the people involved have a lot of free time on their hands. With that said, my impression is that Joe has some sort of personal issue with the name and/or idea of pickleball in general. Perhaps someday Dr. Strangepickle will write a post on how he learned to stop hating and love pickleball, but I won't hold my breath. |
