Joe:
Worcester County utilizes the codeRED Emergency Alert System. Here’s a link to their home page: Here’s a FAQ from the county: We received the alert also, both text and voice alerts. When we signed up for the Worcester County Emergency Alerts, I added three phone numbers to my contacts that codeRED uses: Community Notices, 855-969-4636 Emergency Notices, 866-419-5000 Weather Notices, 800-566-9780 At some point you must have signed up for the alert service? Just add the phone numbers to your contacts and you‘re good to go! Regards, Brian |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: So, a call lights up on my iPhone from 419-5000. The phone says it is likely spam. I ignore. Later I see a voicemail from that number and it was from Worcester emergency services about the storm. Seems odd that these emergency phone notifications to every phone in the county would be treated as spam. Sorta defeats the purpose. |
