Sadly and unfortunately, Stuart Lakernick is now trying to do to Sherrie Clifford exactly what Colette Horn did to Lakernick. Clifford also recently applied to be a member of the Search Committee and Lakernick, committee liaison, wrote, "I do not endorse this applicant." Clifford previously served on the Search Committee and was highly commended for her work by then Search Committee chairman Tom Piatti.

The new board majority today took revenge at the board meeting today and rejected Sherrie Clifford's application to serve on the Candidate Search Committee.

Stuart Lakernink led the blackball of Clifford, saying she signed a petition to boycott Matt Ortt's food and beverage operations in Ocean Pines over the Gavin Knupp hit-and-run.

Actually, the petition online states the purpose is "Terminate Matt Ortt Co. Contract with Ocean Pines Yacht Club."

I look at all the online signatures and found:

• Sherrie Clifford
• Doug Parks
• Douglas Parks
• Josette Wheatley

Whether any of those names are the actual persons we know is unknown. There have been no denials by anyone. Clifford did not deny signing while at the board meeting today. Apparently, anyone can sign using any name and do so multiple times.
