![]() ![]() Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Social Media Committee? Msg# 1156773

While you must follow Facebook rules to post they don't censor opinions. What Sherrie is proposing is for OPA to censor opinions on pages which follow the rules of Facebook but contain opinions the board or some committee don't like. Sherrie can certainly choose to censor her own page but neither she or OPA can censor comments on other FB pages...or have those pages removed. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thank you, Elaine, for bringing up the First Amendment to the Constitution. What first amendment right exists on Facebook? Other than Mark Zuckerberg’s? There are no first amendment rights on this forum. Nor in the New York Times. Nor in the Bayside Gazette. From Chandra Law: May I sue Facebook, Twitter, or other social-media companies for violating my First Amendment or free-speech rights? No. The First Amendment restricts governmentalaction only. |
