Sherrie, since you are relatively new to Ocean Pines, you may not be aware your proposal for an official OPA online forum of some sort has already been tried. It failed miserably.
The article was written by Josh Davis, who is now the OPA Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Davis does an excellent job. Creating some committee whose duties would include oversight of the OPA marketing and public relations department serves no purpose. In fact, and many may find this view heresy, OPA would be much better off if a fair number of the current committees were eliminated. I would start with Search, Strategic Planning, and Communications. Anyone seeking information from OPA as an official source should look at the OPA website; read OPA weekly emails and press releases; write to directors@oceanpines.org. This suggestion of trying yet again some official OPA forum or setting some policy (code of conduct) for board members who post to social media is, as I previously wrote, like trying to catch mosquitoes with a crab net. By the way, OPA already has a Facebook group. Last I looked, it contained the following visible to all:

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Perhaps the most beneficial and productive approach would be for both warring groups to exit Facebook. I think you might be onto something there Joe :) and replace both with OPA FB Group!!! Seems to me you are essentially saying Clifford good, Diller bad. Maybe Diller believed the opposite. ROC does not claim to be better than any other group! And, from the beginning I have always said, ROC may or may not work... Currently 1K+ people seem to like the group but time will tell. Who in Ocean Pines is working to harm our community? People that attack and tear down anyone that works to help the association (observation). Has nothing to do with any other fb group. |
