OPA Board of Director advisory committees like Environment & Natural Assets are just that, advisory. In the case of ENA, the committee is inclined to explore alternative methods to euthanasia perhaps with more vigor than previous committees (or maybe not). Ultimately it's up to the GM and/or Board to decide (i) if and how much time and money to spend on various non-lethal methods of goose population control and (ii) if and when to cull the flock and donate the food like they did in 2018.
All sides - those who oppose euthanasia and those who believe repeating 2018's culling of the flock is needed - need to accept whatever the GM and/or Board decide and be civil about it. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Your comments, if true, can lead to only one conclusion - the individual at the Maryland Food Bank lied today about receiving and distributing the cleaned geese. Yet you admit you never spoke to them. Sorry, but I find your comments troubling at several levels. I believe the ENA Committee may be basing decisions on misinformation rooted in emotions, not valid research. |
