Why would this surprise anyone, given our rather remote location from major metropolitan areas and that the report is comparing cities to an HOA.
I suspect OPA becomes included because OPA is the only HOA with a police force reporting crime statistics. I wonder if OPA is the safest HOA in the state. Is there less per-capita crime in OPA than in River Run or Riddle Farms? The disparity is between cities and an HOA is quick to see -- "the chance of being affected by property crime here just .06% while the 2nd safest place, a city" is 2.7%. On a percentage basis that is rather astronomical . It is certainly good that our subdivision is a safe place to live, but let's not think we're substantially safer than many other subdivisions in this general area. There are no stats on the others because they don't have police departments. |
